Buying quality pre-loved clothing is a growing trend and more and more South Africans are buying into it…
With the clothing industry being the second most polluting industry worldwide, it makes sense to recycle pre-loved clothing. And in our current economic climate, most of us are delighted to get popular brand labels at affordable prices.
Chic Mamas Do Care is a South African not-for-profit organisation raising funds to support Early Childhood Development (ECD) projects in our neighbouring communities.
They strongly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow in a safe and stimulating environment. ECD plays an essential role in the fight to eliminate poverty. It helps to reduce social and gender inequality and enhances the child’s potential economic contribution to society.
Chic Mamas Do Care has created a chic, fun and sustainable way of fundraising through the sale of good quality, pre-loved clothing
They host several fashion events throughout the year, in addition to other ad hoc fundraising initiatives. By reducing, reusing and recycling, they have an eco-friendly fundraising model, which has a positive impact on the environment in addition to making a real difference to the future of the children they support.
There are extensive needs among the ‘unseen’ communities right on our doorstep, so they select projects where they can add great value and inject hope into the children’s lives who are touched.
Shops and fashion events are set up boutique-style and to sell quality pre-loved women’s clothing.
They also welcome contact via forgood.co.za, the platform that connects people to causes.
