2.     Enjoy a laugh

Laughter is the best medicine, according to the saying, and it may be true.

Laughing relaxes your body, releases endorphins (feel good chemicals), and stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles. So if you’re feeling a bit down and craving some carbs to give you a boost, allow yourself a little break to check out a funny video clip, read a few jokes, or chat to a friend who makes you laugh all the time.

There’s a reason why cat videos are so popular on YouTube! Who doesn’t enjoy a crazy cat clip?

3.     Meditate

Are your negative thoughts (or hunger pangs) driving you to distraction? How about a ten-minute meditation session?

Meditation doesn’t have to be a spiritual activity, it can just be about clearing your busy mind by focusing on your breathing. Or you could focus on the end goals of your diet, and why sticking to the plan will be so worthwhile.

Either way, you’ll find that this little break will help you to relax, and avoid unnecessary diet mistakes brought on by stress. You can also add some stretching exercises to this to bring even greater benefit.
