Black Coffee’s heavily anticipated collaboration with US singer Usher is closer than ever to being released

This week the DJ teased a sample of the new single and we are excited for what’s to come!

Black Coffee is gearing up for his next wave of music and we may have just had a taste of what’s in store. The internationally acclaimed DJ last released new music in 2018, in conjunction with his first one-man show, ‘Music is King’ and now, just weeks after confirming the second edition of the concert, Black Coffee looks ready to release his next collection of music.

If this week’s teaser featuring hitmaker Usher is anything to go by, then he’s going to be taking it to another level this year.

Black Coffee and Usher surprised their fans on social media when they shared a post with a 20-second teaser of their new upcoming single on Monday afternoon:

Just when we were wondering how long it would be before we could hear the song, the superstar duo dropped the single on streaming platforms everywhere, only 24 hours later.

We can now confirm that the song is called Lalala and judging by the early impressions, it has all the makings of a South African December anthem.

The collaboration between the two megastars has been a long time coming

It was first teased back in December 2018 when both artists were in town for the ‘Global Citizen’ Johannesburg concert.

Usher spoke about the collaboration with Black Coffee in glowing terms when he was interviewed by Trevor Noah on The Daily Show back in December, saying, “Out of all of the times that I’ve come, I wanted to do something authentic for this region. And I felt like Nathi, Black Coffee is that.

“We gonna work on music for the album but this will be an amazing kick-off and the intention is really to set the spirit in the right direction,”

Lalala is already raking up streams and one could say that it’s only a matter of time until it starts climbing the radio charts.

For now, listen to the new single below and let us know if you are a fan of the first collaboration between Black Coffee and Usher:
