Avoid consuming ready-made or prepackaged foods especially if they are unhealthy and do not support weight loss.

Rather prepare an extra quantity of healthy meals on your own and freeze them for another day. In this way, you are guaranteed to consume nutritious and balanced meals. After all, there are no preservatives or hidden ingredients that are sometimes added to processed foods to enhance their flavour. In addition, you can always source the freshest of ingredients to prepare your meals. This is not guaranteed in readymade or prepackaged meals.

Suitable storage items

When purchasing plastic bags or containers in which to freeze your food, ensure that they are airtight ones so that no ice will be able to enter them when stored in the freezer. Opt to label the food parcels so that it is easy to recognise, especially if you are freezing several different meals weekly.

Consider storing your own meals in a separate section of the freezer. In this way you will be able to easily see when you are running out of meals. Set aside some time in which you could prepare some additional meals to keep in stock for the days that you will need them.

Not only will this save you time and money at a later stage but it will also save you a few centimetres around the waist too!
