When it comes to losing weight, some people seem to dial it in with ease, and others tend to struggle. And I think I know why. You see, when I want to drop weight, and I commit to it, I’m all about dieting. Every flexible part of my life becomes focussed on weight loss.

I change my eating, my sleep, my exercise programming, my social engagements, and my thinking so that I can smash the weight off and go on with my journey. And I’m successful every time. I don’t live my life at my lightest bodyweight because I value food, and my focus in the gym is strength, not abs, but I can lose weight quickly, so I am never too far away from photo-ready.

Yes, weight loss CAN happen slowly, over many months. But if you’re at a critical, unhealthy weight, and you need to drop down to ensure a healthier, more productive lifestyle, you need to do it a little faster than ‘over many months’.

At the same time, crash diets are not going to help you here as they will just increase the health risks.

A few months of no-nonsense, hard-as-nails dieting are what it takes to get moving.

What do you need to do?

You need to grab the bull by the horns and make it happen. A few months of no-nonsense, hard-as-nails dieting are what it takes to get moving. Your mindset needs to be disciplined and serious, and you’ll be off to a great start. If anyone needs an explanation (in an irritating or unhelpful way), tell them it’s none of their business, and that you’re doing this for you. And anyone who wants to support you is someone to hang on to.

Get the mindset that the serious people have, and use it. Life’s too short to wander aimlessly through a diet. Get serious, and lose serious weight.
