If you’re feeling stressed, this quick Pilates workout for anxiety could be just what you need…
We tend to think of exercise as a way to slim down and get fit, but working out is also good for your mental health.
If you often feel stressed and anxious, a good workout could help you feel better. In fact, a study from the University of Thessaly in Greece proved that regular aerobic exercise has a powerful antidepressant effect on people suffering from major depression.
Kim Saha, a physiotherapist, Pilates and HIIT-Pilates instructor, created the following anxiety-busting Pilates workout to help deal with the adrenaline released when stressed.
This workout is under 10 minutes, so it’s something you can do when you’re short on time and looking for a quick way to calm down and relax.
Please note: If you have any health conditions, you may need to talk to your doctor before starting any new exercise programme. Should you feel any unusual discomfort during a workout, stop immediately and talk to your doctor or health advisor as soon as possible.
