If your living room looks too lived in after the snuggling-up-the-couch season, here are some ways to make over your living room on a budget

Goodbye winter and hello spring! It’s good news for some while others of us are looking at our worn winter living rooms and wishing we could splash out and give the room an Instagram-worthy refresh for spring.

If you have big dreams for your living room, but lack the big budget, here are ways to beautify the space without going for broke:

1. A new look for an old sofa

If you’re not about to buy a new sofa, give the old one a new look.

You can do this by having it steam cleaned or reupholstered, re-stuffing flattened sofa cushions, or simply using a large, beautiful throw to disguise anything less than pretty.

2. Add a little cushiness

Scatter cushions are relatively inexpensive, but they make a big difference to the look of a living room and even how comfortable a couch feels. Consider buying new scatter cushions to help update the theme or colour scheme of the room on the cheap.

If you love the scatter cushions you have, but they look a bit flat, buy new inners. Many designers recommend down inners or if you have allergies, synthetic versions of down, for long-lasting cushion fullness and comfort.
