An intrepid globetrotter has told of her determination to travel solo around the world – refusing to let her wheelchair or lack of verbal communication hold her back

Nadia Clarke, 27, from Halifax, West Yorkshire, was born with cerebral palsy – a condition that affects movement and co-ordination – after being starved of oxygen during her birth. However, she hasn’t allowed her condition to hold her back from her dreams.

She’s spent a month backpacking in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore thanks to the support of two personal assistants who help her plan and book the trips.
