Is food poisoning a common issue?
Yes, it is.
However there are some things that you can do to help reduce the risk of experiencing food poisoning.
Check expiration dates on food products
Make it a rule to check the expiration dates on food products. Never purchase foods that are expired no matter how tempting the lower price may seem.
It can be relatively easy for raw foods especially meat and other animal products to become contaminated. When purchasing meats, take a good look at the physical appearance. It should not have a strange colour (not its ordinary colour), be slimy or have an unusual smell.
Similarly, raw fish should be fresh, firm and of a very high quality.
