As the nation continues to celebrate Lira becoming the first African woman to be honoured with a Barbie doll in her likeness, a troll tried to create beef between Bob Mabena and Lira

It all went down after Lira was invited onto Kaya FM for an interview about the landmark achievement.

“Never in my lifetime did I imagine this would happen. There was a bit of disbelief when I was chosen to be honoured in this way and I thought it was a prank,” Lira said during the interview.

Taking to Twitter, the tweep said he was happy about Lira’s accomplishment and accused former Kaya FM radio jock, Bob Mabena of allegedly calling Lira ‘ugly’ years ago.

“I’m happy for miss Lira cause Bob Mabena when still working for Kaya said Lira was the ugliest musician and look at what is happening now. Bob Mabena is a hater,” said the tweep.

Bob moved swiftly to set the person straight

“Lira would disagree with this statement because it is a lie. As a matter of fact; Lira will tell you that I predicted she would be a star even before she signed for 999.

“Desist from peddling lies. This might get you into legal challenges.”

Taking to Instagram last week, Lira said she was deeply honoured to be Barbie’s first African role model.

“I have always been someone who endeavours the celebration of my skin tone and natural hair, and it is amazing to see this reflected in my doll which I hope will inspire girls across the African continent. This is an enormous gesture and affirmation that the world is celebrating Africa for who we are,” she added.
