Self examination It is vital for women to examine their breasts often and consult a doctor if any changes or abnormalities are noticed. Even if you are unsure, it is always best to check with a doctor.

Screening Women in their 20s and 30s should have their breasts examined by a doctor, whilst women who are in their 40s or those in a high risk category should have an annual mammogram done.

  1. Maintain a balanced diet and donâ??t forget to include adequate amounts of fruits and vegetables as they are packed with fibre, antioxidants and other important vitamin and mineral substances that are good for health.

  2. Reduce or eliminate alcohol intake.

  3. Make sure you are of a healthy weight. If overweight, lose some weight by engaging in physical activity and adopting better eating habits. Chat to your doctor for more information on how to lose weight the healthy way.

  4. Give up smoking, if you do smoke.

  5. Stay fit. Exercise daily by doing activities you enjoy. Remember that exercise can be fun, so choose something you prefer doing and you will feel and look great!
