Designer, Palesa Mokubung, called collection her ‘love letter to the world from Africa’ and its easy to see why. The gorgeous, proudly African collection released on 15 August online as well in stores across South Africa. More about Mantsho

The local clothing label was established in 2004, by Johannesburg-based designer, Palesa Mokubung. Mokubung’s signature style is all about transforming African cultures and elements into edgy and modern designs. In fact, her career started when she walked into a boutique, the revolutionary South African fashion brand, Stoned Cherrie and the owner asked where she had got her outfit. Palesa then began working at Stoned Cherrie as a designer, gaining enough knowledge and experience to start her own label.

What to expect

The collection features a selection of bold, African-inspired prints as well as creative cuts – all in one confidence-inspiring package. It boasts a broad palette of colours from blues, browns and blacks to hues of pink and amber reds. Pieces on offer include iconic dresses (our faves are the printed tunic dress with a bow sash at the collar and the brightly printed peplum dress) as well as tops, skirts and sweaters. The collection is rounded off by an array of accessories including colourful espadrilles, chunky earrings and a clutch bag. In fact, the range include stand-out pieces from Mantsho’s last three collections.
