In celebration of Women’s Day this week, we are paying tribute to five celebrities who have shared inspiring stories about their life

They poured their hearts out in books that touched the lives of many readers.

Some of the published books include stories about childhood abuse, the death of a husband, and tips on how to empower yourself.

Letshego Zulu

Letshego recently released a book about how she coped with the death of her husband, rally driver Gugu Zulu.

In her memoir, I Choose To Live: Life After Losing Gugu, the fitness enthusiast talks about how she picked up the pieces after Gugu died in 2016, while attempting to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

“It’s been a challenging yet cathartic experience. There were times when I would attend to just 1 paragraph then put it down for a month or 2 before gathering the strength to continue. There were plenty of tears, lots of smiles and an abundance of laughter. A bag of mixed emotions really (sic),” Letshego wrote on Instagram.

DJ Zinhle

DJ Zinhle teamed up with Nokubonga Mbanga in 2018 to release a motivational book for women.

The pair hoped that Meeting your Power: Returning Home to Yourself would inspire women to better themselves and live their best lives. “I think there are many lessons that women can take away from the book. One is that the responsibility for transformation lies with you.

“The second one is that failure is not the worst thing that can happen to you as long as you learn from your failures. The third thing is that there is a beauty in reaching rock bottom because the only direction you can go is upwards,” Zinhle said in an interview with All4Women.
