The All4Women team recently got to stay at the African Pride Mount Grace Country House & Spa, Autograph Collection, and we were lucky enough to experience some spa treatments too. We got one of our writers to share her honest experience.
The Spa at the African Pride Mount Grace Country House and Spa is one of my all-time favourite places to escape to in Gauteng, and when you go, make sure you take enough time (like at least a whole day) to experience all that it has to offer…
That’s because the award-winning bush spa at the Mount Grace offers so much more than just treatment rooms.
The hydrotherapy garden features a swimming pool, a heated Jacuzzi and my favourite – the flotation pool. And the surrounding countryside views are so gorgeous that a relaxing post-treatment drink on a lounger or a light meal at the cafe is a must-do. (We lingered over a glass of wine and stayed to watch the sunset.)
Leave your stress behind in the city
It’s less than an hour from Fourways, so an easy drive into the mountains, and a tranquil escape from the frenetic urban traffic and noise. Bush sounds and the soothing scents of lavender accompany holistic treatments by their skilled therapists.
The massage menu is an extensive one and their double treatment rooms are ideal for joint treatments with a partner or friend. We both chose the back, neck and shoulder 60-minute massage (I prefer to have the focus on my back and shoulders when I have a massage.)
The pressure was exactly what I requested, and my therapist found the knots in my shoulders immediately and spent the next hour kneading and releasing them with firm pressure, fragrant lavender oil and hot stones.
Limp, and liquid-limbed, we followed our massage with a relaxing visit to the hydrotherapy garden and the warm waters of the flotation pool, and a glass of wine with a view.
Some of the others in our group opted for mud wraps and facials. Body exfoliations are also on the menu, as are feet and nail treatments.
Spa visits are all about total mind and body relaxation and the treatments and exotic African oils on offer at the Mount Grace aim – and achieve – exactly that.
Choose from an indulgent range of treatments from the carefully curated spa menu, or have a look at one of their great value-for-money Country Getaway spa deals.
