Sam’s health deteriorates
We first caught wind of Sam’s deteriorating health in 2018 when it was revealed that he was wheelchair-bound following a stroke.
At the time, the family was at its poorest and once again, no closer to finding out who had killed Senzo.

Kelly is booed off stage by Senzo fans
Fans demanded #JusticeForSenzo at an EFF rally that Kelly Khumalo was performing at, an incident Sam who no doubt have been the most vocal in if he was in the crowds.
Kelly cut her performance short and stormed off stage.

A sad death without closure
After health battles got the better of him, Sam Meyiwa passed away on Monday the 29th of July 2019.
The biggest tragedy came with the realisation that he died nearly five years after his son was murdered but was no closer to learning the truth of what happened on that tragic day in Vosloorus.
The greatest shame is that #SamMeyiwa has died and still there is no justice for Senzo Meyiwa – almost 5 years later. How many ministers and police commissioners have we had in that period? 😞#RIPSamMeyiwa pic.twitter.com/O3tSncXwrE
