Two weeks after his contract at Metro FM was terminated, DJ Fresh has found a new home at 947

The radio personality made the announcement on social media on Monday.

He shared a video on Instagram and Twitter that shows him asking 947 for a job.

“Hey chommie, it’s DJ Fresh, Thato, the Big Dawg. Listen, I need a radio gig. I’ve got five kids to feed, I’ve got a plot to pay off, I’ve got two cars, two bikes…,” he is heard saying in the clip.

The station welcomed DJ Fresh to the family

“The suspense is over. The Big Dawg has arrived. Hey, @djfreshsa…Welcome to #947Joburg. If you love the Big Dawg, 947 loves you,” the station’s official Twitter page wrote.

DJ Fresh will take over the Afternoon Drive show from August 1.

Fresh left Metro FM four weeks ago, after his contract was terminated. He allegedly used foul language on-air that resulted in a complaint to the BCCSA

The SABC said the DJ’s contract brought the station “disrepute” and decided to ‘let him go’ after “unsuccessful engagements”.

Fresh’s fans were livid and vowed to boycott the station. They are now thrilled that he is back on-air – even if it is for another station.

“I’m not crying but wena no sis @Anele on one station… I’m so happy #FreshOn947,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another added: “YESSS! @947 just placed the final piece on the puzzle to become the BEST station in Mzansi! @Anele for breakfast @AyandaMVP getting us through the work day, @DJFreshSA driving us home and bo @TheZweli and @MantsoePout cooking dinner with us! No sure Case I’m hooked! #Freshon947.”

#FreshOn947 was trending on Twitter soon after 947 made the announcement.
