Drink an adequate amount of water

Ensure that you are well hydrated by consuming an adequate amount of water on a daily basis. This will help to promote digestion and also lower the risk of constipation.

Cut down on high sugar, caffeinated and alcoholic beverages and opt for water instead. Many foods also contain water so it will be well worth your while to stock up on these foods. These foods include fruits and vegetables that are high in water, such as melons, cucumbers, tomatoes and grapefruit.
