Fashion will once again take centre stage at the 2019 Vodacom Durban July on Saturday

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Stars of Africa’, which means we can expect to see a lot of beautiful African prints, colours and patterns.

It will be interesting to see how the celebrities will interpret the theme, as South Africa has such a rich and diverse culture.

If you’re looking for tips on how to turn heads at the Durban July then look to these stars for inspiration.

Be bold

She mixed traditional attire with modern fashion for a look that earned her a place on the best-dressed list. It seems Pearl was ahead of her time as we expect many stars to proudly show off their African heritage, with a bit of a twist at the 2019 event.

Add some colour

Bonang Matheba turned heads in this bright yellow dress by designer Gert-Johan Coetzee in 2015.

The theme was ‘Captain’s Table’ and Queen B looked the part. Colour is a good way to add a wow factor to just about any fashion theme. It will certainly get you a lot of attention at the event.
