If there’s one thing Kim Kardashian knows, it’s the world of beauty, so who better to turn to for a few beauty lessons?

Love her or not, there’s no denying that Kim Kardashian knows a thing or two about make-up and the world of beauty.

The reality star never steps out with a hair out of place, never mind a lipstick smudge or mascara clump. And while we know that she has a team of experts on hand to help her, Kim does also have her own beauty range, KKW Beauty, and is pretty hands on in the creation of each line. So, with that in mind, here are a few beauty lessons we’ve learnt from Kim K herself…

If you can’t find what you like, make it yourself

We’ve all been there – you’ve tried what feels like a million different foundations, but no shade matches your skin tone quite right, or you’ve searched high and low for the perfect shade of lipstick for you, but none of them are exactly what you’re looking for.

Well, if you’re Kim Kardashian, you just start a make-up empire and get the exact colours, consistencies and products your heart desires made up.

While this may not be as easy for us mere mortals, what you can do is mix a few products together to get what you’re looking for.

Struggling to get the right foundation shade? Try mixing the one that’s just too light with the one that’s just too dark.

Can’t find an eyeshadow palette with colours that you’ll actually use? Buy an empty one and make one up. Thinking outside the box can really help in the beauty world!

Contour, contour, contour

The undeniable queen of contouring herself is pretty much responsible for us even knowing what contouring is, let alone owning a contour palette.

Not that long ago, we simply applied foundation, powder and blush and went on our merry way, but we now have learnt that we can give ourselves cheekbones and an enhanced face shape if we just apply a little bronzer and highlighter in the right places.

Who knew, right?! (Well, clearly Kim and her make-up artist did!).

Don’t let a skin condition get you down

It’s pretty well known that Kim K has psoriasis, a chronic skin condition which forms scaly, red patches of skin which are incredibly itchy. When flared up, the skin can have large blotches of discoloured skin, which is enough to make anyone feel self-conscious, let alone someone who is photographed for everyone to see on a daily basis.

Kim has figured out how to use the power of make-up to cover up the patches she wants to hide, and embrace the rest – a lesson for us all.

Don’t be scared to experiment with your hair

We might not have a hair stylist on call, but we love that Kim experiments with her hair. From blank to platinum blonde, and pink to balayage, Kim’s tried many colours, and pops out one day with a bob, then the next with mermaid length hair.

We know and appreciate that not everyone will be able to access the kind of wigs and extensions she can, but it does show that experimenting can be fun, and doesn’t have to be permanent.
