By the 1930s, the legacy of America’s millionaire princesses paves the way for the future…

In the early 20th century, American heiresses were entrenched in Britain, having bought British titles. The end of World War I opened up many opportunities, and several American women took high society by storm – even ending up in Parliament.

The episode centres around women such as Emerald Cunard, Nancy Astor, and Wallis Simpson, whose affair with Edward VIII changed the course of British history.
