Cleaning a grater properly can be a tricky business, and has been the death of many dish sponges. With this quick trick, you will never struggle again!
Before you add the grater to the washing up or dishwasher, grab a raw potato.
Make a few passes over the grater, using the cleaning power of the potato juice (and the hard chunks of raw flesh) to push out all other grunge that has accumulated.
Not only will this help ward off rust due to the natural enzymes in the potato, but it will leave you with a mostly clean grater. Now you can wash it as normal without a battle.
If washing up by hand, be sure to always clean the grater in the opposite direction from use, to ensure you don’t accidentally grate your sponge too!
Keep your grater sparkling and sanitary without hassle with this easy little trick.
