The Filorga Oxygen-Glow skincare range was developed for the selfie loving consumer – did they get it right?

I tried all the products in the range to see whether the combination of ingredients will give you the glowing, dewy skin you’re after.

What are the claims?

Filorga says their Oxygen-Glow line is a “super-perfecting radiance range for perfect, no-filter skin”. They’ve done some research and in our self-obsessed and selfie-obsessed world, the need to show ‘perfect’ skin is the number one concern for women aged 25-45.

After-all, who would say no to flawless skin?

Range overview

There are four products in the range: a cream, an eye cream (skincare), as well as a cleanser and a mask (boosters).

All the products in the range contain Nasturtium extract for oxygenation, which provides radiance. It also has hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate, and L-enzyme to detoxify.

For that immediate faux filter effect, the products contain soft-focus agents and pearlescent particles to give your skin luminance and radiance.

Here’s what I thought of each product in the range:

Filorga Oxygen-Glow Cream

I found this cream to feel (and act) like one of those instant lifting and filtering miracle creams – everything looks and feels very smooth almost as soon as you apply it. Which is great, as long as you don’t have dry skin – I found it pretty uncomfortable and was not moisturising enough for my skin, even though I looked amazing. I might keep it for special occasions as it also made for a great primer – if you have normal/combination skin, this should work a treat. It can be used during the day or at nighttime.

Filorga Oxygen-Glow Eyes

As with the face cream, Oxygen-Glow Eyes smoothes and blurs pretty well. I honestly don’t know if the long term effects will be great, but this is the kind of product to keep in your stash for when you need to look perkier ASAP.

Filorga Oxygen-Glow Clean

The cleanser was the product in the range that surprised me the most. It has a jelly-like consistency and feels very soothing and light on the skin. I generally can’t stand gel cleansers, but this one is well balanced and leaves your skin feeling plump and hydrated.

Filorga Oxygen-Glow Mask

By far my favourite product in the range, the Oxygen-Glow Mask contains three exfoliating ‘peel-like’ ingredients to ensure smooth, radiant skin in a flash. It’s a sensory pleasure to use, and your skin feels smooth as silk after every application. I’m now keen to try it for seven days straight (their recommendation for an intensive treatment) to see just how smooth my skin can get!

The Filorga Oxygen-Glow range is priced from R360 – R725. It’s available from selected Edgars, Edgars Beauty and Clicks stores.
