As winter settles in, temperatures around the country are dropping steadily. However, there are no extreme weather predictions for the weekend, so Father’s Day braai plans can still go ahead…

According to a post by Snow Report on Wednesday this week, a storm and cold front that hit the country on Thursday brought light snowfalls to some of the higher peaks in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Lesotho.

“We may see very light snowfalls on the high peaks in the Cederberg, the Hex River Mountains and Matroosberg, the Hottentots-Holland Mountains and the Swartberg Range near Ladismith, Calitzdorp and Oudtshoorn. The peaks near Beaufort West may also have a light dusting and the mountains to the east and west of Uniondale might also get some snow.”
