The month of June is dedicated to the super dads of the world and this Father’s Day they can be expected to be treated like kings by their family

But not everyone will be able to spend the day with their hero. For many, the day will be a painful reminder of losing their dads.

There will be no warm hugs and no “best dad in the world” mugs to celebrate.

Many, including celebrities like Thando Thabethe and Terry Pheto, will be reminiscing about the days they spent with their late fathers.

It will be a bittersweet day for the fatherless, who will no doubt find their own special way to celebrate.

Here are several stars who have lost their dads and how they have paid tribute to them on social media

Terry Pheto

Actress Terry Pheto lost her dad in 2017 and told her fans she was “broken” after losing her “hero”.

The usually private star opened up about life without him in a sad post earlier this year. “Today marks 2yrs since my dad’s passing… I wish I could tell him how much it hurts to live without him,” she tweeted in January.

LeAnne Dlamini

LeAnne’s father died in a car accident in 2014. Five years later the singer is still trying to find closure.

“5 Years today since the day our lives changed forever. A car accident where no justice was ever seen! Logs of wood falls from a truck onto my dad’s car taking his life and nothing ever came of it! In my heart I know you are at peace daddy,” she wrote earlier this month.

LeAnne described her dad as “the kindest man with the biggest smile and biggest heart”.
