Who says the royals can’t get their hands dirty? Prince William and Duchess Kate took turns shearing a woolly sheep in the English county of Cumbria recently…

And true to form, Duchess Kate handled it with royal fineness. She even had a good chuckle when her sheep tried to wriggle out of her grasp.

According to Kensington Palace, the royals met the Brown family of Deepdale Hall Farm, who have been farming near Lake Ullswater since the 1950s.  They joined the Brown family, local farmers, and members of the Farmer Network to discuss some of the key challenges that farmers are facing – including rural isolation, Brexit and support payments.

Not only did the royals try their hand at sheep shearing, they also did some herding and dry stone walling.

Watch the video above to see how they handled their farming tasks.
