According to the South African Weather Service, strong interior North-Westerly winds of 50-65km/h are expected in places over the interior of Namakwa District of the Northern Cape, Central Karoo, Cape Winelands and Little Karoo of the Western Cape on Sunday…

Winter has set in across the country, with temperatures dipping, and the first snowfalls being recorded on the mountainous areas.

According to Snow Report SA, snow fell on the Matroosberg on Thursday morning, while footage of snow falling on the Swartberg Pass near Oudshoorn was also captured. The Matroosberg outside Ceres was also topped with snow on Friday morning.

2. Mpumalanga:

Cloudy in the east where isolated showers at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm. Drizzle is expected along the escarpment.

3. Limpopo:

Partly cloudy and cool to warm, but cloudy in the east where isolated showers are expected at first. Drizzle is expected along the escarpment.

4. North-West Province:

Fine and cool, but warm in the extreme north-east.

5. Free State:

Cloudy in the east at first with morning fog patches, otherwise fine and cool.

6. Northern Cape:

Very cold over the interior at first with frost in places, otherwise fine and cool but cold over the southern interior.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-easterly becoming fresh southerly to south-westerly in the afternoon.

7. Western Cape:

Very cold at first over the interior with frost in places, otherwise fine and cool becoming cloudy along the south-west coast with light evening showers.

The wind along the coast will be light north-easterly becoming fresh north-westerly in the morning and strong along the south-west coast.

8. Western Half Of The Eastern Cape:

Fine and cool becoming partly cloudy along the south-coast in the evening.

The wind along the coast will be moderate north-westerly.

9. Eastern Half Of The Eastern Cape:

Fine and cool but partly cloudy in the morning against the escarpment.

The wind along the coast will be moderate northerly to north-easterly.

10. Kwazulu-Natal:

Cloudy with morning fog over the interior and rain over the northern part of KZN, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but cold over the interior.

The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-easterly becoming easterly to north-easterly from the south in the afternoon.
