The Little Things That Make a Big Difference’ is an article series outlining weight loss and diet interventions that may seem insignificant, but can make a huge difference to the success of your diet plan.

Eat protein early

If you’ve grown up eating a big bowl of cereal drenched in skim milk for breakfast then I’ve got news for you – you’re making a big mistake as far as your weight loss efforts are concerned. You see, one of the simplest and easiest diet strategies that you can implement for better dietary success is to eat a breakfast that is rich in protein.

I’m talking more than twenty grams or so. That’s one serving of a protein shake, or three eggs. And that’s really not tough to do. You can still have your cereal, too. Just add in the protein.

Why does this help?

Because it keeps you full for longer, so you’ll be less likely to eat the wrong things later in the day. Being full from the morning means you’ll eat less for lunch and dinner, and probably eat healthier meals too, because you feel satisfied already.

Also, protein is important as it helps your body to maintain internal structures and repair exercise-damaged muscles. Getting a good dose of protein in the morning means that you don’t have to think about it so much later in the day.

Get your protein, lose more weight, build more muscle, and be more healthy. Good deal!
