Paris fashion week just came to an end – here are the trends that stole the show
Paris is known for its elegant, classic and dramatic fashions loved by the fashion industry’s most elite.
Shailene Woodley, Solange, Zendaya and Kristen Stewart were all present and accounted for at Paris fashion week. Once again, our favourite celebs saw Paris show off glam and over the top looks.
The celebs will definitely be wearing these trends fresh off the runway, but the rest of us will be trying to find tamer versions of all the styles.
This is how you can wear the trends from Paris fashion week:
Fashion month has been obsessed with slime green. It was not at all surprising then that an electrifying shade of chartreuse was so popular this season. Marine Serre, Nina Ricci, Issey Miyake and Vivienne Westwood all showed super bright shades of green.
Goodbye fur, hello feathers. Designers like Balmain and Cedric Charlier used feathers on jackets, while others like Guy Laroche relied on them to add high-impact glam to shoes.
Leather on leather
From matching red blazers and dress combos at Alexander McQueen to a full leather suit at Drome, all the designers this season absolutely loved leather on leather and leather.
Designers never tire of plaid. However, this season Paris was all about red plaid. Redemption, Christian Dior, Marine Serre and Balenciaga were all gaga for this trend.
Valentino, Courrèges, Ann Demeulemeester and Nina Ricci created masterpieces to top of your look. Every city was crazy about statement hats this season.
There is no better way to add dramatic detail to an outfit than with ruffle detailing. Whether it’s a statement frock or a Shakespearian inspired top, some ruffles here and there can do no wrong.
