Coming to terms with the death of one of your favourite celebrities is never easy
However, once the grief has passed it is our responsibility as a generation to accurately archive the stories of our biggest stars so that generations that follow may know who they were – and film is one of the greatest vehicles for doing so.
We think some of these fallen celebrities deserve to have their biopics produced (and accurately depicted) over the next few years.
To lighten up the mood, we took a guess at which actor could play each celebrity:
Mandoza passed away in 2016 but his legacy remains as strong as ever.
His biopic would depict the crucial role he played in forging Kwaito as a force in South African music – as well as his experiences as a crossover artist thanks to his hit single, Nkalakatha.
We think the brilliant Warren Masemola could carry this role with aplomb.

HHP was another musical pioneer who captivated us from the start of his career.
The late Motswako rapper is one of Mafikeng’s proudest exports and his biopic would be an adventurous tale of big risks and bigger rewards.
While we’ve never seen much of his acting, we think L’Vovo would make a strong candidate for the role of HHP.
