Watch this cancer-stricken father kiss his three-week-old daughter for the first time…
Craig Fountain (32) was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer in September 2018 – and was soon put on a 12-week course of chemotherapy.
He was told that the treatment would make his saliva toxic and was warned not to be physically intimate with his pregnant wife, Elisabeth, because of cross-contamination which could harm their unborn baby.
Elisabeth was induced on January 29, 2019 but Craig was still undergoing treatment, at the time of her birth. It was only on February 24, six days after his final chemo dose that he was finally able to kiss his newborn daughter.
“Some things in life are just worth waiting for”
“The first time I was able to kiss her was such a wonderful and poignant moment for me and just goes to show that some things are worth waiting for,” says Craig.
