Sorbet skincare products are loved by women all over SA and I’m betting it’s for these 3 reasons:

  1. Easy to find
  2. Value for money
  3. Great quality and proven results

None of the products in the range I’m using this month cost more than R200 each, and they are available at Sorbet salons or Clicks stores nationwide. No wonder they’re a hit with money savvy, budget-conscious women who want results from their skincare products but don’t want to spend more than their monthly car payments to have great skin!

The Age Affect range I’m reviewing here specifically targets skin that has started to need a not more hydration and nourishment as we age.

My skin is at the age where it needs a more little help to fight the creeping signs of ageing – the light, “suitable for all skin types” formulas of creams and lotions I used in my 20s and 30s don’t seem to soak into my skin and treat those fine lines that are appearing around my eyes and mouth as my skin needs more hydration from my moisturiser and night cream, and “plumping out” from my serum.

The science behind Age Affect

Skin regeneration slows down as we age, skin becomes less firm, and (horrors!) wrinkles begin to appear almost overnight. All products in the Age Affect range contain a combination of powerful actives and age-fighting vitamins A, C and E. They’re also suitable for sensitive skins: no harsh ingredients to irritate skin.

I’m using the Age Affect range – Power Serum, Night Cream and Eye and Lip Serum

These were the products used on my skin at my recent Sorbet Grande facial

It was great to be able to continue using them at home afterwards, to maintain that post-facial smooth and nourished feeling.

Age Affect Power Serum – R160.00

The serum feels like a facial oil when I first applied it, but it is absorbed into my skin, and provides deep nourishment once it soaks into my skin – and doesn’t leave a greasy residue. It’s so nourishing that it could almost replace my moisturiser – except for the vital SPF coverage we need for the relentless South African sun.

Age Affect Lip & Eye Repair Serum – R155.00

I use this AROUND the eye and lip area after my face wash, Micellar water and serum routine in the morning, to plump out the skin on these parts of my face, but it can also be used as a lip balm. (It has a gorgeous smell too.)

Age Affect Night Cream – R200.00

This rich, buttery cream is great for overnight nourishment, visibly glowing skin and comes in a convenient pump-action bottle like the serum. A little goes a long way so the 50ml bottle should last me a couple of months (longer if I forget to use it every night, but I’m going to try…).

The Age Affect range also includes a Day Cream with an SPF of 15 (R200) and a Cream Cleanser (R95). At these prices, you can shop the entire range and have your entire skincare routine sorted for a lot less than R1000.
