If you find that the weight is slowly piling on, take a look at the things that you spend a large quantity of time engaging in daily. Does watching television lie high on your list and physical activity at the bottom end?

Cut down on television

If you tend to spend a considerable amount of time watching television then consider giving up on some of that time and using it in a more productive way that can aid weight loss. Perhaps start by cutting down on one show at a time. Go for a run instead and engage in more physical activity.

Get more physical

You could even cut down on a specific amount of time, say half an hour. Spend that valuable 30 minutes getting those muscles warmed up by doing exercises at home.

Minutes of physical activity add up

Do what works for you. Get yourself adjusted into engaging in physical activity more and watching television less. Do this by doing pushups or briskly walking up and down the stairs several times, when the advertisements are playing. Remember that all these little minutes of exercise add up at the end of the day!

Less unnecessary snacking

You can gradually build up into allocating a specific amount of time daily for exercise. An additional bonus is that it will help you to cut down on unnecessary snacking – which most people tend to do when watching television.  The temptation to give in to high calorie snacks can further be reduced as you will not be viewing the advertisements that may entice you to consume certain foods too!
