Beyonce, fondly known as Queen Bey, has paid homage to a fellow ‘royal’ – quite literally that is!
The music superstar and her husband Jay Z won Best International Group at the Brit Awards on Wednesday night.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t be there and instead recorded a video acceptance speech which was played out to the crowds at London’s O2 Arena.
That’s where it gets interesting, or slightly bizarre.
The video opens up with a close up of a portrait of Duchess Meghan decked in regal royal jewels.
The pregnant royal – depicted as ‘the Queen’ or a modern take on the infamous Mona Lisa – is pictured with a smug look on her face (she bagged Prince Harry after all!)
After the duo say their speech, the video closes with the couple ‘bowing down’ to Meghan.
Always a trendsetter and never one to follow the rules, Beyonce is always making a statement, whether it be with regards to fashion, politics or driving the feminist movement (think smash hit song; Who run the world – Girls!).
But her latest move begs the question; is Queen Bey clapping back at all Meghan’s haters? Is she hoping Meghan will name her new baby after her? Or is it a sign of respect from one queen to another?

Thank you to the Brits for the award for Best International Group. I won this award back in 2002 with my besties, Kelly and Michelle. How lucky am I to have been in a group with my other best friend, the GOAT Hova. 🙌🏾 In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy.
Take a look at what social media had to say about the viral video;
Wow at Beyonce and Jay-Z not only making an acceptance video, but doing so in front of a portrait of Meghan Markle. Very classy, pointed support of a black woman being treated repulsively by the UK tabloids #BRITs

Beyoncé is so damn intentional with everything. Imagine affirming another woman when the world is tearing her down. Ugh 😍🔥🔥🔥 https://t.co/fwIIW5cDrG

I love how Beyoncé in particular is very aware of what’s going on in the media and how she makes powerful statements so subtly. They knew exactly what they were doing by having Meghan Markle as Mona Lisa and I’m 1000% here for it.

Beyoncé endured similar anti-black smear-attacks to Meghan Markle when she was pregnant and it is so beautiful to see one hyper-visible black woman publicly reaching out to another like “dw i got u sis”okay? pic.twitter.com/oTdSpyC7bj
