It is important to spend an adequate amount of time engaging in warm-up exercises before you start your workout routine. Include stretching in your warm-up activity as this will help gear your muscles up for the more intense movements that will follow when exercising.
Similarly, be sure to spend some time doing cool-down exercises after you have completed your workout. This will help your muscles relax after an intense workout.
