Cassper Nyovest has defended himself after being accused of throwing shade at a fan, who asked the rapper to sign him to his record label

“Can you help me find a good company that can sign me please my G if you can afford,” tweeted the fan.

Cassper responded by telling the aspiring musician to “open a company and sign himself”.

Many tweeps saw this as a diss but Cassper insisted that he was merely sharing the advice that helped change his own life.

The rapper returned to Twitter to explain that the line was from a popular track by Nas.

“That’s a quote from a song. Nas said, ‘start a company, sign yourself, that’s a major key.’ Indaba some of you have victim mentality. I’m giving the boy the greatest advice I got.”

The rapper then went on to let haters know that he was levels above other musicians because he owns his music

“I live a life most artists can only dream of cause I own my own music. Y’all are just ready to be offended.”

Cassper also took the opportunity to make it clear that his album, Sweet and Short has proved his haters wrong.
