A royal feud

With the royal wedding and the royal tour over, the media went in search of tabloid fodder to fill their royal pages.

Meghan was accused of causing drama in the palace. Not only was Meghan accused of being rude to staff, but one paper insinuated that she left Kate in tears – allegedly during Princess Charlotte’s fitting for the wedding. Kate and Meghan, according to the British press, don’t get along and are causing a rift between Prince Harry and Prince William. So much so, that Harry has decided to move out of Kensington Palace with his pregnant wife.

Meghan has been labelled “Duchess Difficult” by royal insiders who claim that she is very demanding. The queen apparently had to step in when Harry allegedly declared, “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets”. It didn’t help that one of Meghan’s aids quit shortly after the couple’s royal tour, with reports of more aides to follow suit.

But reports of a feud are likely to be untrue. The royal family insisted that Harry and Meghan were moving to Frogmore Cottage to accommodate their growing family. As for royal aides quitting left, right and centre, Kate and William also had a high staff turnover during their first few years of husband and wife.

Claims that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge planned to avoid spending Christmas with Harry and Meghan also proved to be untrue. Kensington Palace confirmed that the “fab four” – as their fans call them – will be spending Christmas with the queen at Sandringham.
