Sbahle Mpisane gave the nation reason to be relieved when she shared her first social media post in over three months following a horrific accident that left her hospitalised

It was a joyous moment for Sbahle’s loved ones when she returned home from the hospital after a lengthy stay. On Monday afternoon, her long-time boyfriend, Itumeleng Khune, shared an image of the fitness instructor in a wheelchair before announcing that she was finally on her way home.

The news was welcomed by many people around the country, and two days after her release she shared a message on social media for the first time since her accident.

She began by writing “I’m Back” on Instagram stories before adding: “I will keep you all updated about my recovery. Thank you for the constant prayers”

Sbahle’s family had kindly asked her fans to respect and observe her privacy earlier this year, after her brother, Andile, shared a video of the fitness instructor from her hospital ward

In the video, she appeared to be sedated but Andile removed it after the post attracted some unwanted abuse from social media followers.

However, she appears to be in a much more stable condition although details of her recovery are currently scarce.

Sbahle was involved in a horrific car accident on 9 August when her BMW collided with a tree before bursting into flames. Miraculously, Sbahle made it out alive thanks to the speedy work of paramedics who had to use the Jaws of Life to rescue her.

Her boyfriend, Itu Khune, has been supportive through every step of the journey and led the way in celebrating the fact that she had finally been discharged from hospital:

Welcome back Sbahle, here’s to a healthy recovery!
