Snow Report has shared a number of images of snowfalls taking place in the Western and Eastern Cape today…

After a heatwave hit the country last week, temperatures have dipped once again, plunging parts of South Africa into a cold front. According to Snow Report the cold is set to spread. “From Wednesday we may see snow in the eastern part of Lesotho and on the high-peaks of the Drakensberg. Please note that most snowfalls are expected to be very light and some may not even settle at all, but it will be very cold in the areas that have a chance of seeing snow.”

1. Gauteng:

Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

2. Mpumalanga:

Cloudy and cool to warm with widespread showers and thundershowers but scattered in the west.

3. Limpopo:

Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the south. It will be hot to very hot in the north and in the Lowveld.

4. North-West Province:

Fine and warm but partly cloudy in the east with showers and thundershowers.

5. Free State:

Fine and hot, becoming partly cloudy in the extreme east with isolated showers and thundershowers.

6. Northern Cape:

Partly cloudy and cold to cool in the south, otherwise fine and warm.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly, becoming strong from the afternoon.

7. Western Cape:

Cloudy and cold to cool with rain and showers along the south and south-west coast at first, otherwise partly cloudy but fine in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.

8. Western Half Of The Eastern Cape:

Partly cloudy at first, otherwise cloudy and cold with isolated showers and rain but scattered along the coast.

The wind along the coast will be strong to near gale force westerly to south-westerly.

9. Eastern Half Of The Eastern Cape:

Cloudy and cool with light rain in the east at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cold becoming cloudy with isolated showers from the west in the evening.

The wind along the coast will be strong to near gale force south-westerly.

10. Kwazulu-Natal:

Cloudy with morning fog over the interior ,otherwise cool but cold in places over the interior. Isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers are expected but widespread in the extreme north.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly in the north, otherwise fresh to strong southerly to south-westerly reaching near gale late morning, spreading northwards by evening.
