Former 7de Laan actress Simone Nortmann is on Cloud 9 after announcing that she is officially engaged to her partner, Andries Pretorius, who proposed this week

It seems as if everything is coming together for Simone, who revealed that her partner had just dropped to one knee and popped the question while they were on vacay. Her love life is in a good space, she’s thriving in her career, what more could a girl ask for?

The actress took to Instagram this week to share the news with her fans, and she was flooded with messages of congratulations from her followers and fans.

In an overjoyed post, Simone shared an image of her ring with a caption that simply read:“JAAAAAAAAAA!”

She followed this up with a heartfelt post dedicated to her fiancé where she revealed just how Andries had proposed

Mr Pretorius began by reciting scriptures, as they are both devout Christians, before finally popping the question.

But it didn’t end there – after Simone said ‘yes’, her hubby-to-be arranged a quick spa massage before driving back home and surprising her with an engagement party with their close friends and family in attendance. It’s no surprise that Simone had nothing but loving words for him when she said:

“Andries, I have no doubt that the rest of my life and all of my heart is safe with you. Your love ushers me into such freedom and joy. The second biggest YES of my life, and I’ll shout it from the rooftops!”

Minutes before my fiancé @andriespretorius_ (YES I’M DROPPING IT LIKE IT’S HOT) asked me to marry him he pulled out his phone and said he’s been praying for me and would like to share a few things he felt was on God’s heart for me. He (joyfully-tearfully) started reading scriptures and sharing visions and apart from the fact that it was scarily accurate, the only thought I can remember going through my mind was, “GOD IS GIVING ME A HUSBAND THAT HEARS HIS VOICE.” A prayer and desire I’ve kept in my heart for as long as I can remember. Countless journals full of teenage heartache, adult heartbreak, hopeless idealism and “Jesus, when?” and then God shows up, intervenes, redeems, and (in HIS time) gives a gift that exceeds ALL my expectations. So after Andries proposed we walked back to reception where a helicopter (Bell 430, in my favourite colour) and two pilots awaited us with Moët champagne and treated us to a congratulatory trip (a surprise courtesy of someone at the hotel who felt to bless us) – how incredibly significant 😱. Afterward Andries lead us in communion and then we had a couples’ massage. And after thát he brought me back to Pretoria where he organized a surprise engagement party with 50+ of our closest friends and family. 😭 Andries, I have no doubt that the rest of my life and all of my heart is safe with you. Your love ushers me into such freedom and joy. The second biggest YES of my life, and I’ll shout it from the rooftops! Dankie dat jy jou hart vir soveel jare beskerm het, dat jy jare lank ook vir my gebid het, en dat jy heel is. Let’s get married, baby! ♥️ 👉🏼

The SAFTA-nominated actress is one of Mzansi’s most beloved film and television talents

Although all the headlines were about her 2018 role on Stroomop, Simone has starred in television soapies such as 7de Laan, while also picking up a Golden Horn nomination for her role in For The Birds, Hotel.

Now it seems as if life is preparing her for a role she’s always wanted, and it seems as if she has a wonderful co-star by her side. We simply can’t wait to see what is in store for these two, when the time comes to get married!
