We all want to look toned and feel great, but we don’t always have the time for long, sweaty workouts. I know I don’t, which is why I love quick, online Pilates workouts.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a type of exercise regimen that puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.
According to the father of Pilates, Joseph Pilates, if practised with consistency, Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body
What I love about Pilates is that it’s low-impact, short workouts that don’t cause me to sweat (although longer and strenuous workouts can lead to a good sweat), the core work helps me balance out the sitting I do for work and lifting I do as a mom, while the focus on breathing leaves me feeling calm and refreshed. Plus all that is needed is a mat.
Four weeks of Pilates
For the next four weeks, I’m going to be finding, sharing and doing a Pilates workout that can be done in 10-minutes or less.
