The family of a man who was killed in a horrific car crash involving Skolopad says they want answers

Fred Tlali died last month when his car was involved in a head-on collision in the Free State.

Skolopad told the Daily Sun she was driving to the police station with two cops and her daughter after a family altercation

The officers reportedly got into her car after instructing her to drive to the nearest police station.

She claims a female cop who was sitting in the back seat “turned the steering wheel” when she “hit a speed bump”, causing the car to veer into oncoming traffic.

“That cop nearly killed us,” she told the paper.

The entertainer sustained serious injuries in the crash that left 61-year-old Fred dead

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, the man’s nephew, Nelson Ntlele, says they want justice.

“I buried my uncle because of Skolopad and she needs to give us answers. My uncle had a wife and many children. What will happen to them now? As a family we will go all the way to find out what happened and those responsible must pay for it because if it wasn’t for the accident my uncle would still be alive.”

Skolopad was discharged from hospital last Friday – the day before Fred’s funeral.

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide

They are also looking into why Skolopad was allowed to drive herself to the police station with the officers inside her vehicle.

“Incidents or claims that occurred leading up to the accident will be attended to as the investigation continues… the administration issues around this particular incident… will be in the docket and later presented before the court when the time comes. To say, during the incident what happened exactly and why would the police be in the car, that belongs to Skolopad. All those issues will be deliberated in court (sic),” a police spokesperson told TshisaLIVE.
