Celebrate good times, come on!

Life is short. So when there’s something truly great that deserves a celebration of some sort then don’t let your diet goals get in the way TOO MUCH.

Celebrations often include food – and if you’re on diet, then you might not be looking forward to the party because of all the food you’re going to have to refuse while nibbling on some raw carrot sticks.

However, there is a way to enjoy the celebrations, AND stick to your diet. This is not to say that you can go to the party and have a total food frenzy. But you CAN go to the party and enjoy small portions of the food and drinks without putting on any weight.

The key?

This should only happen OCCASINALLY! Just because it’s Friday – it’s not necessarily an excuse for a celebration. Celebrations should include special birthdays, weddings, anniversaries… things that we love to associate with food and community.

When it comes to diet, balance is not a 50-50 thing. A balanced diet is 95% on plan 5% off plan (for celebrations). So that you can still enjoy the important things in life while still staying on track for your ultimate goal.

So celebrate when the moment is there. But if you find yourself having one of those moments every weekend, then you’re doing it wrong. Stay moderate, stay balanced, but celebrate the good things that are going on. You deserve to.

This is how balance can be achieved while living a predominantly healthy and active lifestyle. You don’t have to be BORING to be on diet!
