Some people have a food weakness that they just can’t seem to get past, whether it is ice cream, chocolate or even a bowl of creamy macaroni and cheese. Food weaknesses can vary across a particular type of food (for example refined carbohydrates), food prepared in a certain way (for example deep fried foods) or even to snacks! What is your food weakness?
If your food weakness is one that is high in calories, you could easily find yourself overeating and piling on the weight! Finding out what your food weaknesses are, and determining when you tend to have them, can help you to take control of the number of calories that you are taking in.
For example, if you have a habit of munching on a large bag of potato chips as a mid-afternoon snack, you can increase your calorie intake by a good few hundreds. Do this every day and your weekly calorie count can sky-rocket!
Once you have determined the unhealthy foods that are just too tempting to resist, do your very best to keep them as far out of sight as possible. Even better, avoid purchasing them completely! Opt to consume something healthy in its place instead. For example, a small handful of raw unsalted nuts can provide your body with valuable nutrients whilst still giving you the crunch factor. Watch your portion size and you will still be able to keep your calorie count in check!
