The Duchess of Sussex (AKA Meghan Markle) is the fresh-faced princess we can all relate to. She has an inner glow that we wish we could all have – and now we can!
Here are some beauty lessons we can all learn from Meghan, and don’t worry, they won’t break the bank.
1. Flaunt what makes you, you!
The Duchess always speaks out against publications that remove her freckles in photos and doesn’t like wearing too much makeup. If you want to let your natural self shine through, only apply foundation where needed, and then blend the rest in using a beauty blender to keep your foundation looking natural.
2. Perfect the 5-minute face
Make-up doesn’t have to take up too much of your time. Meghan likes to keep things simple with what she calls the 5-minute face. “It’s just Touche Eclat, curled lashes, mascara, ChapStick, and a little bit of blush”, she told Allure. This look is really easy to put together, and the only splurge is the YSL Touche Eclat highlighter. If you don’t want to spend on a YSL product, Catrice Re-Touch Light Reflecting Concealer is a great budget-friendly alternative.
3. Glow from the inside out
Meghan says that the secret to her inner glow might just be a yoga workout! So be sure to do yoga at least twice a week.
4. Don’t forget your face exercises
Meghan swears by these facial exercises from her favourite beauty therapist, Nichola Joss. A natural and totally free way to look like royalty? Yes please!
Here are some easy massage movements to try at home. Using a facial oil, spend time massaging into the skin to rebalance, hydrate and nourish as well as de-stressing muscle tissue removing tension, puffiness and toxins making the skin and muscle healthier and more youthful @jossbeauty @decleoruk #facialmassage #sculptingmassage #royalskincare #skincare
5. Always smile
Don’t forget to smile and curl your eyelashes to make them pop. To heat the eyelash curler before you use it, place it between your thighs a few minutes before.
6. Looking good doesn’t have to cost a fortune
Just because Meghan is a duchess doesn’t mean that she splurges on everything. She’s a huge fan of budget beauty products, like the Body Shop’s Tea Tree Oil, R110 which she uses as a cure-all for almost every beauty problem. Another of her favourites is Nivea’s Skin Firming Hydration Body Lotion, R99.99 which is available at most supermarkets!
