The key to picking your ingredients is hydration and moisture. While some hair (especially if it’s a little damaged) loves protein too, you want to focus on oils and water ingredients to nourish the cuticle.

The simplest, one-ingredient mask you could opt for is a moisturising oil. We love coconut oil, as it can actually penetrate the hair shaft and prevent protein loss too – so it’s a win-win!

Slather your hair full of the oil of your choice, tie your hair up in a shower cap, and apply some gentle heat with the hairdryer. After 20 minutes, you can wash off as normal.

If you’d like to add some nourishing vitamins and minerals to the mix, beat half an avocado together with a little honey and an egg yolk. Use the rich paste you make in a similar way to the oil mask, and your hair will emerge from the shower glistening with rich, silky moisture.
