No man is more of a hero than dad…

I think my five-year-old daughter captures the essence of a dad perfectly, when she proudly exclaims “Daddy can fix anything!”.

She’s bang on the money…

Dads are ‘fixers’ by nature – from faulty toys and bust electronic appliances to homework problems and broken hearts. Mine has also been known to fix the hole in my bank account from time to time.

There’s probably no way we can ever fully thank our dad for everything he does for us – BUT there is no better day than Father’s Day (16 June 2019) to spoil him and make him feel truly special!

This year, in addition to a few warm, wintry spoils, I’m dead set on helping my kids make special DIY Father’s Day cards. Of course, like many moms do, I turned to Pinterest for inspiration – and found the cutest ideas that trump any store-bought greeting card (and, er, those crusty macaroni noodle art cards I used to give my dad when I was younger).

Disclaimer: I’m not your typical Pinterest-perfect mom – I hardly ever follow through with my pins. I’m also not what they would term a ‘master crafter’, but I know the dads in our life (dad and grandpa!) will love receiving any of these one-of-a-kind cards, mistakes and all:

1. When I grow up, I want to be just like daddy

2. A picture can say a thousand words

3. Braai partners for life!

4. The ultimate tie for dad

5. The best dad by ‘Par’

6. I love you THIS much!

7.  Dad, you’re my superhero!

8. To the moon and back…

9. Happy Father’s Day from dad’s little monsters

10. Daddy, when you hold my hands, you hold my heart
