Ah, the conversation around whether to invite children to your wedding or not is almost always a heated one. Some people believe that children add an extra dose of magic to the atmosphere, while others are of the opinion that children at weddings are the equivalent of a scene straight out of a horror movie!

I’ve been in both corners of this conversation. I didn’t want any kids at my own wedding in 2009, for fear of them ruining the ‘best day of my life’. Now that I’m a parent myself, I have no problem giving anyone who doesn’t invite my kids to their wedding some major side-eye.

At the recent Royal Wedding, all eyes were on Meghan Markle, as she made her way down the aisle in a beautiful Givenchy wedding gown, but it was seven-year-old pageboy, Brian Mulroney who captured the hearts of millions – including the Internet. The little boy’s toothless grin just beyond the bride’s veil went viral and many say his “joyful face wordlessly communicated what everyone was feeling in that heart-stopping moment”.
