Stop eating absentmindedly

Many, many people who are overweight can’t seem to understand how they got there, and why they struggle so hard to change it. And MOST of these people have one trait in common – when there is food around they are eating it.

But when you ask them later in the day what they have eaten, they will almost NEVER recall that they ate a whole bunch of ‘snacks’. They remember the meals, but they have also usually eaten almost two extra meals’ worth of calories from snacks.

They didn’t MEAN TO eat those things, but they ate them anyway, almost without thinking. And that’s a big problem, because the calories still count. Plus, it’s not like these people are eating carrots and broccoli without thinking…

So when should you eat?

At PLANNED meal times. If it’s not breakfast, lunch or supper time, then you need to have a really good reason to be eating. Anytime you find yourself reaching for food ‘just because it is there’ then you need to ask yourself some serious questions about your commitment to the diet.

The bottom line here is that you need to be CRITICALLY intentional regarding what you eat, and the quantity in which you eat it too. You CANNOT lose the weight if you are lax regarding these things.

Your brain is one of the most important tools you have at your disposal when it comes to dieting, so stop being absentminded about your eating.
