Stock up on: Bananas

Yes, I know you know that fruits are an important staple in your weight loss kitchen. And while a general ‘eat more fruit’ statement could suffice, there are certain fruits that warrant their own place in the series of articles.

Bananas are great for a variety of reasons. First, they taste lovely. They’re sweet without being too sugary, and they have a nice texture so they are easy and comfortable to eat. Next up, they are LOADED with good stuff.

Bananas are high in vitamins C and B6, potassium and magnesium. They contain a healthy dose of fibre and are also highly energizing. A banana is around about the best thing you can eat if you need a boost on a long day.

Bananas are best eaten raw, but if you are looking for a cooked meal they can be useful too.


Banana and egg ‘flapjacks’ are really great for breakfast and taste wonderful:

Smash up a banana, two eggs and some salt. Fry in coconut oil until cooked. Spread a bit of (sugar & salt-free) peanut butter on top and enjoy! For extra credit you can toss in a bit of oats, some seeds, and some cinnamon and vanilla essence.
