Sandwiches are traditionally associated with high tea. Why not glam them up a little bit by making them extra big, extra stuffed and extra cheesy! These Salmon and Cream Cheese Bagels are great for breakfast, or you could make a lunchtime treat with your own homemade BBQ Pulled Pork.

Try: Pasta

Whether you serve pasta as a main or a side dish, it’s hugely versatile and likely to please most people. We’ve chosen two of our favourites: one vegetarian pasta recipe with cream, white wine and mushrooms, and another that is both meaty and low carb.

Sweet treats

Try: Homemade ice cream

Making ice cream is not as difficult as it seems. Even better, you don’t need an ice-cream maker if you choose the right recipe. For the adventurous, this recipe for Black Sesame and Liquorice Ice Cream incorporates lots of interesting flavours. For the health conscious we recommend a fruity Nice Cream recipe, while for the more traditional, this recipe for Maltesers No Churn Ice Cream is truly fantastic!

Try: Apple pie

Try your hand at a great classic – homemade Apple Pie! For those seeking a challenge, this recipe for Apple Galette goes above and beyond with the addition of Walnut Frangipane and Salted Caramel Sauce. You could also make individual mini pies with store-bought puff pastry for a more time-conscious dessert.

Try: Cheesecake

Cheesecake comes in all flavours, shapes and sizes and we’ve chosen two of our readers’ favourites. The first is a Baked Buttermilk Cheesecake recipe, topped with caramel. The second is a no-bake White Chocolate Cheesecake that is similar to a fridge tart. For anyone who doesn’t consume dairy, we also have a third option: Raw, Vegan Blueberry Cheesecake.
